Stands for All Aluminum Alloy Conductor
Adding alloying elements such as magnesium and silicon enhances the mechanical strength of AAAC conductors compared to AAC conductors.
AAAC conductors carry electricity efficiently.
LIGHTER WEIGHT
Have good ampacity
Have good flexibility
Introduction
The conductor consists of Aluminum Magnesium-Silicon alloy wires in successive layers in opposite direction. Grease may be applied between the layers of AAAC except the outer layer.
Application
AAAC bare conductors are used for primary and secondary overhead power transmission lines having long spans and high resistance to corrosion.
Specification
IEC Sizes IEC 61089:1991
